February 2026 – Grenada, West Indies
A winter getaway for some well deserved rest and relaxation on the beach, and by the pool. Of course we never waste the chance to explore a new country, meet new people, and find some great inspiration for new photos ! The “Spice Island” sure has some incredible colours !

Fall 2024 – South Africa
One of our most ambitious adventures to date. We did all the planning, including flights, transportation, and accommodations. So many things could have gone wrong, but instead so much went very right. Lots of images in the linked gallery, here’s a couple that stand out for us.

Sometimes things just line up for that perfect shot! One of my all time favourite sunset photos. Smsung Galaxy Note 10 – the best camera is always the one in your hand when you need it !
Proud Pride Leader Pilanesburg, SA 2024
We had been watching this incredible fellow for a while, when he suddenly changed direction and walked out of the thickets right in front of us. I was ready. DSLR on full auto shoots 8 frames per second (and it’s not exactly quiet about it), this was the best of a few dozen. The light on the grass, and just the hint of pink from his tongue.

We’re lucky enough to live on a ravine. This beautiful lady has been by many times, but only once (so far) has she stopped and poseed like this for her portrait. Nikon P610 Superzoom.

Another amazing “Right place at the right time”. Once again, having people for perspective makes all the difference to this image. I Like to give credit where it’s due – the Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra I had with me at the time takes incredible pictures. Too slippery for a full size camera, I had my Phone and my GoPro
On The Hunt Pilanesburg National Park, SA 2024
We were sitting in our truck under the shade of “The Shepards Tree” which our lodge was named after. Our guide had a hunch this was where the group of Lions was headed. You can’t image how it feels to see these three walking up…

Iconic shot, really needs no title. This area was fenced off to repair the grassy area – so while I usually prefer a few people for perspective, this area being empty was too good to pass up- an amazing look up from the base without the crowds. Trocadéro Place in the background
Green Sea Turtle Curacao 2020
This was shot in the wild off the pier at Playa Grandi. The fishermen clean their catch here, and the turtles are abundant. We carry a Nikon Coolpix 100 waterproof point and shoot for snorkeling trips like this.

Yes the water is that turquise, and yes the sky is that blue. But it’s the red and white from the canoes that I love about this picture, and the rocks in the foreground. Andrea’s iPhone got the win for this location’s best pic !

Our first day in South Africa. We’d been travelling for more than 24 hours to get here. Already getting dark, this was our first (and possibly best) elephant family encounter. Shot at dusk, ISO 12,800
Zebras Pilanesburg National Park, SA 2024
Love the “haircuts” on these two, and the golden grass. Different types of Zebras have different stripes, these are Burchell’s Zebras with the brown ‘shadow’ stripe between the black ones.
